Baltimore Orioles: Dylan Bundy, P
Dylan takes his diet seriously. He ate grilled chicken, rice, and green beans every day of the offseason. The first purchase he made with his $4 million signing bonus was reported to be “fruits and vegetables.” He says that the hardest part about being a minor league ballplayer, in addition to the eight-hour bus rides, was finding a Whole Foods on the road. “People ask me if I’ve ever had McDonald’s before,” Dylan says. “I can’t say I ever have.”
Dylan is widely considered to be the second-best prospect in all of baseball. In 2012 with the minor league Delmarva Shorebirds, opposing hitters went 5 for 94 against him. He never gave up a run. He will also fight attitude with attitude. When he heard that brash young Washington Nationals slugger Bryce Harper blew a kiss at a pitcher after hitting a home run off the guy, Dylan told a radio host, “If I was pitching the next game, I would hit him all four at-bats.”
